About the Australian Childhood Foundation

The Safeguarding Children Program was originally developed by the Australian Council for Children and Youth Organisations (ACCYO). In July 2009, ACCYO merged with the Australian Childhood Foundation to expand the reach and success of the program.

The Safeguarding Children Program is now run and managed by the Australian Childhood Foundation, a national not for profit organisation committed to the prevention of child abuse.

The Australian Childhood Foundation provides specialist trauma counselling for children and young people who have experienced abuse, therapeutic out of home care programs, professional education and training, community based child abuse prevention activities and parenting education and resource programs.
